We're proud to give professionals a chance to practice specialty skills in an array of areas, including:

• Adult Intensive Care Unit: This critical care unit features additional beds, and state-of-the-art equipment to care for the critically ill. 
• Inland Empire Heart and Vascular Institute: We opened the first dedicated heart center between Phoenix and Los Angeles in 1960. Now the second busiest cardiac center in California, we perform more than 750 open-heart surgeries and 8,200 cardiac catheter lab procedures annually. 
• Maternal/Child Health Services: This specialized area caters to new moms offering completely private labor/delivery/recovery suites and patient rooms, a 20-bed level II/III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, High Risk/Pre-Term Labor clinic, in-patient services and our exclusive Babies First program. It also offers pediatric surgery, and is ranked as a "five-star" program by one agency. 
• Orthopedic Care: Rated number one in California, our center offers inpatient and outpatient surgery and rehabilitation services. 
• Pharmacy Department: Clinical Pharmacy takes an interdisciplinary approach at St. Bernardine Medical Center. Our Pharmacists interact with our nurses, physicians, dieticians, microbiologists and other clinical specialists to deliver quality medical care. We participate in the IHI CCU Collaborative "Saving 100K Lives Campaign". Primary areas of focus are parenteral nutrition, appropriate antibiotic utilization, and, most importantly, to assure that medications are used in a safe and effective manner. Further, advanced technologies, including order-entry scanning and controlled substance dispensing, enable pharmacists to perform clinical rotations, antibiotic monitoring and nutritional support. 
• Radiology: The medical imaging department at St. Bernardine Medical Center focuses on quality information, superior patient care and fostering growth in our employees. We provide clinical information to physicians with the assistance of state-of-the-art technology. Computers have revolutionized and improved the technology field, and employees in the imaging department can freeze a heart beat, turn it in any direction using 3D imagery and diagnose problems before they become apparent. With the assistance of Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) technology, technologists can capture an X-ray image faster and more efficiently and transfer the digital file anywhere to have it read by specialist in the privacy of their offices in minutes. Technology is as good as the staff that operates it, and our facility is focused on providing quality care with a solid customer service approach. We treat the patients as customers with dignity, courtesy and professionalism like you expect. 
• Rehabilitation Services: This multidisciplinary department provides services in the areas of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Wound Care and Industrial Rehabilitation in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. PT and OT provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment for a wide variety of patients with orthopedic, neurological and muscular/skeletal impairments, as well as treatment of cardiopulmonary and complex medical conditions. 
• Respiratory Care Services: Respiratory Care at SBMC provides the Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with the responsibility, tools, collaboration and respect that today's professional and highly-trained RCP desires in their work life. The 38 member department, under the direction of the Medical Director, provide patient clinical assessment, emergency airway management, breathing treatments, continuous mechanical ventilator management (including High Frequency Oscillatory ventilation for neonates), ABG diagnostic testing and many other procedures and services. RCPs provide care for all patients (neonates, pediatrics, and adult) and are highly valued and respected members of the health care team at SBMC. Learning, professional growth and providing the very best quality patient care is the daily focus.
• Emergency Services: 24 hour on-site Emergency Services with STEMI heart attack certification. 
• Oncology Services: State-of-the-art cancer treatment, including all aspects of
  radiation therapy.
• Surgical Services: Multi-specialty services, including laparoscopic and laser surgeries, as well as lithotripsy.
