- Heart and Vascular Institute:
• 2010 Sequoia Hospital announced receiving the highest ranking in the nation for Aortic Valve Replacement (AVR) Operative Survival from 2005-2009 according to the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) National Database Report. Out of 955 participating sites, Sequoia Hospital’s Heart and Vascular Institute ranks number one. This is the fourth semi-annual report in a row Sequoia has achieved the 100th percentile in the US.
• 2009 Blue Distinction Center for Cardiac Care designation by Blue Cross of California and Blue Shield of California. Blue Distinction Centers for Cardiac Care provide a full range of cardiac care services, including inpatient cardiac care, cardiac rehabilitation, cardiac catheterization and cardiac surgery, meeting criteria that demonstrate reliability in delivering cardiac care and better overall outcomes for patients. - Birth Center and Family Services: From prenatal yoga to lactation support, Sequoia Hospital is there for growing families, every step of the way. Our home-like Birth Center encourages togetherness of the entire family, and Sequoia's technically advanced facility offers 24-hour anesthesia coverage and an onsite neonatal ICU. - Emergency Department: We take pride in offering one of the most highly rated emergency departments in the Bay Area. Our ER ranks in the top 10% nationwide for patient satisfaction according to 2009 Avatar Surveys, the Catholic Healthcare West (CHW) patient satisfaction survey vendor. The Emergency Department is fully staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and our wait times are among the shortest in the Bay Area, averaging less than 35 minutes to see a physician.
- Radiation Oncology Department: Sequoia Hospital offers the highest quality radiation therapy coupled with exceptional service. Patients come to a friendly, neighborly setting in their own community, feeling reassured that their unique needs will be met by a caring professional staff. We have an excellent therapist to patient ratio of 2:1, use paperless charting, and have state-of-the-art technology, such as California's only Varian Clinac 21 EX Silhouette.
