About UsOur Work Environment We work hard to make Northridge Hospital Medical Center a great choice for any healthcare worker, and our success shows. About 80% of our new hires are recommended to us by people who work here. In addition, we have the lowest employee turnover in the Catholic Healthcare West system. Why do people love working here? We think that our emphasis on continuing education plays a big role in employee satisfaction. We encourage our people to maximize their potential, and offer tuition reimbursement, scholarships, and classes to help employees improve their skills. Employees also enjoy the strong support of management, and know that their contribution will be recognized, either from appreciation expressed informally by colleagues and patients-or through one of our many employee recognition and award programs. Our Hometown Northridge is located in the northern part of the San Fernando Valley, sheltered by the majestic Santa Susana Mountains. This fertile agricultural area first became renowned as a shipping point for all types of produce, from nuts and olives to citrus and wheat. Later its fame grew as a hideaway to the stars, when the likes of Clark Gable, Carol Lombard, and Barbara Stanwyck built horse ranches here to escape from their hectic Hollywood lives. Today, with excellent schools, a low crime rate, and a mild Mediterranean climate, Northridge attracts thousands of people, who find the city an ideal community to live and do business in. It is home to the region's largest regional shopping mall, a growing number of medical, biotech, and technology industries, and Cal State University, Northridge, the third largest university in the state with approximately 30,000 students. Well-kept and regulated parks and recreation areas abound, and a network of freeways allows quick jaunts to cool beaches, beautiful mountains, and sun-baked deserts. Families can enjoy numerous attractions, such as major movie and television studios and one of the area's many theme parks. World-class clubs, concerts, movie theatres, and playhouses light up the night, and a wealth of museums, galleries, and historic sites round out our cultural appeal. |
