About Us

Our Work Environment

Following our mission of helping the sick and less fortunate, we make a difference in the lives of patients every day. Our teams are remarkably coherent; cooperation, respect, and caring underlie the relationships between nurses, physicians, and other caregivers. We also enjoy tremendous opportunities to learn from each other, in a rewarding environment where ideas and concerns are shared openly.

Our Hometown

Nestled between the Cascades and the Trinity Alps in northern California, Redding attracts many urbanites looking for an outdoor lifestyle, affordable housing, and a diversified culture within a growing center of commerce and industry.

We have something for everyone here. In town, over 200 restaurants offer a wide variety of ethnic foods and an abundance of seafood delivered fresh by Pacific fishing fleets. For culture, visit the Shasta College Art Gallery, College Theater, and College Fine Arts Program, which produces more than 50 performing arts events each year. Further attractions are available at the Old City Hall Gallery and Performing Arts Center, a lovely building listed in the National Register of Historical Places. Twelve major shopping destinations-including a factory outlet center-keep the shoppers busy.

You can also picnic, relax, or hike in 529 acres of city parks, which include portions of the magnificent Sacramento River Trail System. Visitors also love the Turtle Bay Exploration Park, an evolving 300-acre campus encompassing a museum, wildlife exhibits, a summer butterfly house, and the Forest Camp and Amphitheatre.

Outside adventures are as varied as our surroundings. Pristine lakes, wild and scenic rivers, spectacular mountain peaks, state and national parks, wilderness areas, and caverns and caves are all within a 75-mile radius. Only 15 miles north of downtown Redding, you'll find beautiful Lake Shasta and Shasta Dam, the second largest dam in the United States, standing three times the height of Niagara Falls. Lassen Volcanic National Park, about an hour's drive east of Redding, gives you a chance to visit one of two active volcanoes within the continental United States.
