Mercy Medical Center Merced values staff development. As an institution, we foster genuine accountability by providing access to training and educational programs for all levels of staff.

Staff Development Department: The Staff Development Department offers several programs for professional development and continuing education for all of our employees. Some of the courses offered include ACLS, PALS, NRP, BLS, Basic Arrhythmia, CNA Potpourri and a number of computer courses. As a charter member of the Central California Critical Care Consortium, Mercy’s Staff Development Department offers an 80-hour Basic Critical Care Course. Mercy is also a National Center for Competency Testing, providing a conduit for our phlebotomy staff to obtain and maintain their National Certified Phlebotomy Technician certification.

New Grad RN Program: Our program boasts an eight week, structured orientation program with clinical training tailored to the needs those enrolled. The classroom portion of the program is taught by clinical experts and includes hands on equipment and skills training and comprehensive computer and document training. New Grads will also have an individualized unit preceptorship and a supplemental clinical rotation through ancillary services.

Mercy also offers Tuition Reimbursement and paid CEU hours to assist in the professional development of our staff.
