Our patients feel that our staff has their best interests at heart. From the time our patients arrive they are treated with compassion and competent care. A career at the Donald P. Loker Cancer Center offers you the opportunity to work in a highly technical and specialized field without sacrificing the warmth and compassion that drew you into health care in the first place.

Services:

  • Mammography - a mammogram is an x-ray of the breast and is recommended annually for women ages 40 an up.
  • Image Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) - a highly advance and computer controlled x-ray use to deliver precise radiation doses to a malignant tumor or specific areas. The radiation dose conforms to the tumor's (3-D) shape with controlled intensity, minimizing exposure to healthy tissue.
  • High Dose Rate Bracytherapy - Radioactive seeds (about the size of a grain of rice) are placed in or near the tumor which will eventually (weeks or months) shrink the tumor to nothing. The seeds have no lasting effects.
  • Sentinel Node Biopsy - an innovative, minimally invasive sugery that enables doctors to detect even the slightest amount of cancerous tumors in the lymph nodes and remove only those nodes that are affected.
  • Chemotherapy - the use of drugs or combinations of drugs to kill or damage cancer cells in the body.
  • Cryosurgery - the use of extreme cold from liquid nitrogen to destroy abnormal tissue. Often used for skin, prostate and cervical cancers.
