Values In Action

Dignity. Collaboration. Justice. Stewardship. Excellence. These are our values, and they’re truly at the core of our day-to-day work life. Returning to these values helps guide our decisions, which in turn enriches the lives of our patients, their families, and our employees.

Living our values is not always a simple proposition. It's not easy to know, for example, what stewardship looks like in the work place or how to achieve justice in the real world. Still, knowing that our values center us gives us confidence that we are doing right by ourselves and our communities.

In 1991, the CHW Sponsoring Congregations initiated our Values in Action program across CHW. This program honors members of our teams at facilities and corporate offices whose on-the-job actions consistently reinforce our values. Each day, these employees demonstrate new ways to embrace and utilize these values as part of their work. We have them to thank for our culture of inclusion and fairness. Our employees never cease to inspire.
